When you’ve been shaping the world for 17 generations and carry 400 years of construction experience, you don’t celebrate 50 years in Europe with a lukewarm reception and a cheap ribbon. No. You go for a total experience that will stand tall. That’s why this multinational turned to us. Because if there’s one thing way2events doesn’t believe in, it’s mediocrity.
A venue that holds up
We chose Dolce La Hulpe, in the green outskirts of Brussels. Not because it was “just good enough,” but because it had everything this anniversary deserved: style, peace and space. And yes, we made sure the entire place was ours. No random bystanders, no curious looks. Just a setting that felt as if Takenaka had designed it themselves: sleek, private and flawlessly executed.
Forget cava. Give us sake.
How you welcome people sets the tone. So no obligatory glass of cava at the entrance, but a proper sake stand. A warm nod to Japan, without flashing neon signs. Because this was not your ordinary Belgian party. It was a tribute to fifty years of building bridges between Europe and Japan. And you don’t show that with clichés (please, don’t), but with choices that matter.
Taiko as the foundation
Same goes for the acts. Some performances decorate an event. Others carry it. We chose the latter (obviously). A Taiko drum show that made the room tremble – though the Takenaka engineers were thankfully not too worried. Powerful. Raw. Precise. The kind of performance that gives you goosebumps and gets talked about the next morning at the coffee machine. Because when you celebrate 50 years, you deserve to be seen and heard.
Details that make the difference
A backdrop marking the anniversary. Origami as a playful nod to Japanese aesthetics. Menus translated into Japanese… Conscious choices that showed guests they were taken seriously. Respect is not optional. And believe us: people feel that. There’s a world of difference between “dressing up a venue” and “refining everything down to the last detail.”
Everything handled, from A to Z
From hotel rooms to dinner and logistics: way2events took care of everything. No stress, no loose ends. Guests checked in, enjoyed themselves and left without ever noticing how much work went on behind the scenes. Exactly the way we want it. Yes, that’s how we build: working invisibly hard, delivering visibly flawless results.
For Takenaka, this was – like their own buildings – a warm memory designed to stand tall. Light entertainment? Always possible. But Takenaka chose an event rooted in their DNA: respect for tradition, an eye for detail, and the strength to keep building for the future.
And that’s exactly what we stand for at way2events. Because honestly? We don’t just “do events.” We build foundations. And those last.
