On Tuesday, Belgium beat the USA in the 1/8 finals of the World Cup in Brazil. And we wouldn’t be Way2events, if we weren’t right where the action was! We and our guests were among only a couple of thousands of Belgians who are still in Brazil and got to share an exceptional (football) experience!
The futuristic Bahia Arena in the city of ‘São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos, or “Salvador” for short, was the location for Belgium’s first elimination round game. We still had dozens of Belgian clients who were willing to stay in Brazil as long as the Red Devils are in the tournament, and who are we to reject such an interesting proposition.
And this World Cup has been an absolute stunner until now. We’re also connected to and following the Dutch national team, so we have plenty of excitement. With France, Germany, Belgium and Holland in the last eight teams, we will have plenty to work with to keep the buzz going. Who knows, Belgium and the Netherlands may just have what it takes to reach the Semi-Finals, in which they would face… each other!!
We have seen beautiful goals, great matches, crazy turnarounds, magnificent stadiums and so much more, and we’re left wondering that this really must be the greatest World Cup ever. The organisation is spotless, the country has football pouring down its veins, absolutely everyone is watching the World Cup and no one wants to stay behind. The locals not only support their own national team, but tend to pick other favourite teams as well, which works miracles for the atmosphere around the stadiums.
