IFK Göteborg arrived in Belgium with little room for delay.

Their reward finally came in the 85th minute when Saidou Alioum Moubarak made it 1–1 on the night and gave the visitors another chance.
The match went into extra time, but no further goals followed.
After 120 minutes in Ghent, it finished 1–1. Gent progressed 2–1 on aggregate and IFK Göteborg’s European campaign came to an end by a single goal across the two legs.
